He is multi-talented and has made his debut in almost every aspect of filmmaking, whether it is music or singing or acting. However, Farhan Akhtar was recently in news for his divorce with wife Adhuna Bhabani. The couple who has two kids decided to end their 16 year marriage last year and officially got a divorce this week.
On the other hand, Farhan’s father, popular lyricist Javed Akhtar and the celebrity’s mother Honey Irani too have been separated as the former went on to marry award winning actress Shabana Azmi. Farhan and Adhuna’s personal relationship has been in the spotlight of late but the couple has not only been cordial with each other but even their divorce has been quite amicable devoid of mud-slinging and blame-games.
Reportedly, Farhan Akhtar recently went on to add how his parents separation affected him as a child. The director-producer have rarely been vocal about it but this time he spoke candidly where he revealed that it did indeed affect him as a child. While he maintained that parents’ separation is always traumatic for kids, considering that he and Zoya were quite young, it wasn’t really bad.
What also proved lucky for the two of them, according to Farhan, was the smooth bond that they shared with their parents. He stated that as they grew up their whole-hearted conversations with their parents, made them believe that separation is better in the long-run if it gives happiness to them and everyone around.
Also asserting that Javed Akhtar has always been doting dad to them and was there whenever he needed them, Farhan described that her parents have always been friends even after all this and that after the initial hurt of separation, their relation has been ‘rejuvenated’. He also spoke about the close relation he shares with Shabana Azmi.
On the other hand, Javed Akhtar too voiced out similar thoughts wherein he maintained that his kids have grown up watching the mutual admiration that the writer shares with his former wife and their civilized relations was responsible to bring them up in a friendlier and better atmosphere.
He also added that he wasn’t a conventional father but shared a very communicative and democratic relationship with his kids but he also mentioned further that his children are very argumentative.
After her last venture Kill/Dil in 2014, Parineeti Chopra is all set to make a comeback yet again with a YRF venture. Meri Pyaari Bindu has the actress paired up with Ayushmann Khurrana for the first time and now we hear that the production house has decided to devise a new promotional strategy.
Considering that the two of them are singers and the duo will also be seen singing for the film, the makers decided to organize a musical concert of sorts in association with Hindustan Times and posted about the same social media. The said musical night will be held in Bandra Fort, a famous location in suburban Mumbai next week and the details were shared on Instagram.
“LIVE!! @ayushmannk& his name @ayushmannbhava come to you on May 6th at Bandra Fort. AAAANNNDDDD That's not all!? We also have the talented @parineetichopra joining him with the band for @meripyaaribindu! So, BLOCK YOUR CALENDAR!! We'll see you there. Or you're plain square,” read the note on the official Instagram page of Yash Raj Films.
Meri Pyaari Bindu is a romantic drama, directed by Akshay Roy and is slated to release on May 12. Interestingly the film marks the debut of Parineeti Chopra as a singer and her song ‘Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin’ has gained popularity.
She has always been unconventional but making her Hollywood debut as an antagonist is probably one of Priyanka Chopra’s bravest steps. The actress plays a grey character in her forthcoming film Baywatch and has Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron as her co-stars. While she has given glimpses of the film by sharing pictures from the sets of the same, the actress has now decided to speak more about her character.
Readers may be aware that Priyanka Chopra plays the main antagonist Victoria Leeds in Baywatch. Giving an insight to her character, the former beauty queen mentioned that Victoria is a woman in a man’s world for whom it is not about drugs or money but power. She’s self-made, head strong and intelligent.
Let us also remind you that initially the character written for Priyanka was supposed to be a male character. However director Seth Gordon decided to make the change after he met the ‘Quantico’ star. Talking about the moment, the filmmaker revealed that he loved the idea of Dwayne Johnson going against a female antagonist. He further added that it is not about physical strength or courage, but much beyond outsmarting and out-winning the opponent.
Besides the trio, Baywatch also stars Kelly Rohrbach, IlfeneshHadera, and Rob Huebel among others and is slated to release on June 2.
Earlier in April we had reported that John Abraham’s production house JA Productions had tied up with KriArj Entertainment and would be making a film based on the successful nuclear test done in Pokhran in 1998. In fact we had also told you that the said project would be helmed by Abhishek Sharma, who has been researching and developing this topic over the past three years.
Well now we hear that KriArj Entertainment has inked a two film deal with none other than Dian Penty. While the first film will see her sharing screen space with John Abraham in the lead role, not much is known about the second venture.
As for the film with John Abraham, the yet untitled venture has been written by SaiwynQuadros and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, it is expected to go on floors by May 30.
