Shraddha Kapoor, who has previously sung a reprise version of 'Galliyan' (Ek Villain) and 'Bezuban Phir Se' (ABCD 2), will be crooning for a number titled 'Cham Cham'. In fact, it is being said that initially Meet Bros had composed this song for Ekta Kapoor but the producer decided to give away the rights since the film which was supposed to have the song was delayed. Further we also hear that the said song will have two versions and one of the versions will be sung by Shraddha. It has been learnt that Shraddha will be recording for the song in the next couple of weeks.
Starring Tiger Shroff, Baaghi is directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala in association with UTV. The film is slated to release on April 29, 2016.
Known for all inside gossips and scoops, the chat show Koffee With Karan gained momentum, courtesy the witty sense of humour of host Karan Johar. And now, the filmmaker is all set to turn host once again with a web based chat show and his first guest will be the Fitoor actor Aditya Roy Kapur.
Karan Johar will apparently be getting up close and personal with the Kapur lad and we hear the director-producer will once again get a chance to scoop out some more secrets of Aditya's life. Karan will be putting the actor on the scanner and ask him all kinds of questions he has been avoiding for some time now. This show will be available for all on various social networking platforms. On the other hand, Aditya is gearing up for all the awkward questions that can possibly be shot at him. Aditya confirmed the news and said, "It's always fun to chat with Karan. I am sure he's going to throw some surprises at me, but I will be ready for them. It will be a lot of fun."
Also starring Katrina Kaif and Tabu in prominent roles, Fitoor is the official adaptation of the Charles Dickens' novel 'The Great Expectations' and is slated to release on February 12.
The critically acclaimed Saala Khadoos that uniquely traces the journey of a relationship between a coach and his protege in the field of boxing won many hearts, especially that of sports enthusiasts. One amongst them was the renowned international boxer Mike Tyson. While his name has been synonymous with the sport for years, it was an honour for the makers of Saala Khadoos to see him expressing his desire to watch the film and now, Rajkumar Hirani (the producer) and Madhavan (the lead actor) have decided to fulfill his wish.
Rajkumar Hirani and Madhavan will now fly to the US to host a special screening of Saala Khadoos for Mike Tyson. It so happened that after the release of this bilingual film (released in Tamil as Irudhi Suttru), Mike Tyson took to his official page on Facebook saying, "I'd like to see this boxing film" along with a post about the film. And now, fulfilling his desire are the makers who immediately got in touch with the manager of the sports personality after seeing his post on social media. Describing the process, Madhavan claimed that they initially got in touch with PR who stated that they were impressed by the reviews and desired to see the film. After a final discussion a few days ago, Rajkumar Hirani and team decided to fly to US for the screening.
Also starring professional martial arts artist Ritika Singh, Saala Khadoos released on January 29, 2016.
Vidya Balan, after winning the National award among other awards for her performance in The Dirty Picture, is getting ready for yet another biopic as she prepares to essay the role of the controversial author, Kamala Das in a bilingual film (Malayalam and Hindi).
Kamala Das was known for her open and honest treatment of female sexuality that was free from any sense of guilt. The author during her lifetime came under major scrutiny for openly talking about sexuality, as well as her religious conversion. Born to the managing editior of the leading daily Mathrubhumi and a poetess, Kamala's brush with literary works started at a young age. Whilst she got married at the age of 15, her encouraging husband Madhava Das also proved to be one of her strongest supporter of her works. The film traces her entire journey that can be divided into three phases - her teen years including her marriage, her autobiography 'Ente Katha' (My Story) and her last few years in which she converted her religion and spent her life as the Islamic woman, Kamala Surayya.
It was the director of the film, Kamal who approached Vidya for the role. Interestingly, the same filmmaker had planned to launch Vidya in the Malayalam film industry with the film Chakram in the year 2003 alongside Mohanlal but it had to be shelved after a week of shooting. Now she will once again be collaborating with Kamal for this bi-lingual film on Kamala Das.
Indian-American model and actor Waris Ahluwalia got detained at a Mexican airport earlier this week and the Sikh man was questioned for wearing his turban. It's now happening to Indians in Sikh turbans. Earlier if you were a Khan you got questioned/ detained/ screened/scanned on airports. Irrfan Khan has gone through the ordeal on two occasions on American airports.
Speaking about it to me he said, "More than the physical torture, it's the wounds of humiliation that never heal after you undergo such a horrific experience. It happened to me on two occasions. I was detained in New York and Los Angeles airport for secondary interrogation. I was outraged. I was told to quietly come into a room for questioning and identification verification. I wasn't allowed to talk. When I tried to ask why I was being treated this way, I was told to keep quiet. I wasn't allowed to use my phone. They said, 'No, you just sit down.' All because my name was Irrfan Khan. You can't argue or rationalize."
Kabir Khan had to face the brunt of 9/11. "I was accompanying my wife in the US along with the Morani Brothers. It was a flight from LA to Washington just 15 days after 9/11. So the fear and paranoia were not totally unjustified. We were waiting for the flight to take off talking to each other in Hindi when some passengers complained that we were talking in a 'strange' language. Within no time two burly FBI agents came on board and took me and my co-passengers to the front of the plane. When they got to know my name, they questioned me for more than two hours, googled my name for terrorist links and then finally allowed me to fly. They asked me if I had been to Pakistan. I told them no. If I had told them that I had been to Afghanistan, they'd have freaked out. Two other passengers on board refused to fly with us. So they were asked to deboard. So you see post 9/11 persecution comes with its inbuilt safety measures. But I honestly think a part of the global fear is justified. We can't blame people for being paranoid after what had happened."
However, when Kabir was questioned again at an American airport he refused to take it lying down, "On a second occasion this time in New York, when I was detained I blew my top. I told this big Black American guy, 'Please clear the confusion about my identity once and for all. Or don't provide me with a visa. I don't want to come back to the US.' The guy wanted to know if it was a threat. I was taken aback. Mira Nair had to intervene. She advised me to never counter-question them. This is the free spirit of America. This 90-minute detention changed me completely. Can you imagine what a 90-day detention can do to an innocent man thrown into jail"
Kamal Haasan frequently gets into the 'suspicious' segment of the US immigration department. "Sometimes they take me aside and ask me questions. Just because we do business with America they think we are questionable. If we're so touchy about immigration rules in America, we shouldn't be doing business with them."
Kamal Haasan feels racial and cultural suspicion exist in every society. "Talk to an Afghani who comes to visit India. Afghani students can't get rooms to stay in India. There's resistance to Afghani passports in India. And why are we so touchy about American treatment? They've a 9/11 to caution them. With 9/11, Australia is hostile to Indians. India should stop acting paranoid about racial profiling."
However Kamal cautions, "It can't be helped. The Americans are an injured nation. They're just being careful. It happened to me and I had to miss my flight. There was no great apology or anything. Its rules they're following. I'm often mistaken for a Muslim and I don't correct the misconception. My brothers Charu Haasan and Chandra Haasan don't have to face this. Please remember the fabric of our nation is woven with saffron, white and green. We can't pull out any of the colours. We have to co-exist. The crusades are over."
Many people suffer obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) about certain things which they want in a particular manner and loose calm or get anxious if they don't get things right. Our B-town celebs are no different. They too suffer from OCD for different variety of stuff which they want as desired.
It all started with Baby in January 2015. Ever since then, Akshay Kumar has already scored three more releases in the form of Gabbar Is Back, Brothers and Singh Is Bliing. Now in a span of exactly 12 months, the man would have his fifth film hitting the screens - Airlift. While his contemporaries are churning out one or at maximum two films in one year, Akshay Kumar is pretty much setting a record
Last year seemed to be very hectic and successful for the dimpled beauty Deepika Padukone. Her three hit movies 'Piku', 'Tamasha' and 'Bajirao Mastani' back to back proves it once again that she rules the industry not just with beauty but with skills too.
