ISHKQ IN PARIS Movie Review : Preity Zinta misses the bus! : Movie Reviews

The major drawback of ISHKQ IN PARIS perhaps lies in its inability to explain the reason in the story which forced Preity Zinta into commitment phobic, as the argument in the form of one flimsy story to buttress it does not sound convincing. In the same manner how Akaash falls for Ishkq is also hazy and being positioned as a rom-com this aspect needed to be dealt with some detail Read More...

ZINDAGI 50:50 Movie Review: Angst and survival in Mumbai from a female perspective : Movie Reviews

The idea indeed was very good, to bring into relief the compromises that a woman has to make in a heartless city - Mumbai to make a living, and the three protagonists chosen to etch out the struggle, Veena Malik as a prostitute, Supriya Kumari as a common woman living in chawl in the city and Riya Sen as a struggling starlet, all in their own way trying to find a permanent head over their head. HUM HAI RAAHI CAR KE Movie Review : A Ride Gone Awry : Movie Reviews

HUM HAIN RAAHI CAR KE when it was conceptualized seemed to be inspired from its hugely successful peer of the same name HUM HAIN RAHI PYAR KE, and the song from HHRPK – Bombayee se gayee Poona- seems to be the inspiration for the film HUM HAI RAAHI CAR KE, as it is a road film that is a saga of road journey from Mumbai to Pune and whatever happens in between. However, it does not stand in comparison in any manner to its illustrative peer, and falls flat on its pace. Read More...

Yesterday there were reports that Sana Khan, the lead actress from Salman Khan's upcoming film Mental, had an arrest warrant against her by the Navi Mumbai police in connection with kidnapping of a minor girl. Sunny Deols Singh Sahab The Great postponed

Sunny Deol starrer Singh Sahab The Great that was slated for release this August has been postponed. The film which was initially set to release on Eid, August 8, has now been shifted to October 11.

The reason behind this apparent shift is that Sunny and director Anil Sharma want to avoid clashing with the other two big releases, Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again and Chennai Express, slated for an Eid release.

Interestingly though, thanks to the postponement of the film, it will release alongside Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS 2 featuring Sunny Leone.

Katrinas sister to debut opposite Kunal Nayyar

Slow and steady seems to be the course of Katrina Kaif's younger sister Isabel's career.

She has been signed for the second lead opposite British Indian actor Kunal Nayyar in French director Jean-Francois Pouliot's Dr Cabbie. The film co-produced by Salman Khan, features Vinay Virmani who played one of the title roles in Bejoy Nambiar's undervalued David.

The story goes that Salman wanted to cast Isabel opposite Virmani. But by the time the decision was taken to cast her, it was too late.

Says a source close to the project, "The G I Joe actress Adriane Palicki had already been signed opposite Vinay. So Isabel stepped in to co-star with the film's second lead Kunal Nayyar who has worked in the hit British series The Big Bang Theory."

Sources from Canada where the film is being shot say co-producer Salman Khan is taking a keen interest in the project and in Isabel's role.

According to sources, Isabelle would make her full-fledged Bollywood debut in 2014 in a film that may be jointly co-produced by Salman and Katrina.

Speaking from Canada, the film's leading man Vinay Virmani said, "Isabel has joined our project. She's a really sweet girl, very easy-going and fun to work with."

Riteish to produce bilingual biopic on Indian Olympic legend

Riteish Deshmukh may have been MIA from the Bollywood circuit in the recent past, however, now we hear that he is all set to take on his next venture. The film which is said to be a bilingual biopic is based on the life of India's first ever individual Olympic legend.

Produced by Riteish's own production house, Mumbai Film Company and titled Pocket Dynamo, the film on the life of wrestler Khashaba Jadhav who was the first individual Olympic medal holder for India -1952 Olympics.

Titled Pocket Dynamo basis the name he was referred to as, Riteish acquired the rights for the same from Khashaba Jadhav Vikas Sanstha, a trust formed by Ranjit Jadhav, son of Khashaba Jadhav. The film will be a bi-lingual which will be made and released both in Marathi and Hindi, is produced in association with Line.exe productions.

Confirming his latest passion project, producer Riteish Deshmukh reveals, "Yes, we have acquired the rights for the biopic based on Khashaba Jadhav's life. I'm glad that Ranjit Jadhav deemed us worthy of giving his father's story to be essayed on screen. He has quite a noteworthy journey and earned our country its first international medal but in time, his name and story was something that was lost. He is a hero who deserves to be remembered and honoured. We will work hard to do justice to the portrayal of his achievements. We are currently working on the script."

Javed Jaffrey to play grey character in Besharam

A lot has been said about Abhinav Kashyap's film Besharam. Thanks to the film's lead actor Ranbir Kapoor's popularity, the film has been gaining much buzz. Now we hear that Javed Jaffrey will also be seen in the film.

Interestingly though Jaffrey will be seen in a negative role in Besharam. The said part will be geared to an action-oriented villain's role, for which the actor has taken up martial arts and lost a lot of weight and has been working out religiously, following a strict diet to look leaner and fitter.

Commenting on his character, Javed says, "I essay a negative or a positive character depending on whether it's a principle role and how much it drives the movie." Javed was last seen in The Forest in a negative role.

Besharam that also features Pallavi Sharda, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh is slated for release this October.
